Keilor St. Bernard's Athletic Club

From humble beginnings in 1965, Keilor St. Bernard's has developed extensively to become one of Victoria's largest athletics clubs. The club has a proud history and is very much a family oriented club with well over 130 members. Our membership profile is unique, with both female and male members ranging from 13 to over 70 years.

Keilor St. Bernard's Athletic Club is located in the North-Western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. Based at St. Bernard's College in West Essendon, the club trains there on Monday and Thursday nights with an additional session on Sunday mornings. Training sessions are also held in Sunbury on Wednesday evenings. The club caters for all ages, gender and levels of ability. As an affiliated member of Athletics Victoria, the club participates in the summer track and field competition and the winter cross-country season.

Over the last 45 years, Keilor St. Bernard's has enjoyed many successes, including a Commonwealth Games bronze medal, two world records and numerous national and state titles.

It's the clubs character, as much as its successes that make Keilor St. Bernard's a unique and special club, a club that prides itself on its family oriented values. The club's character is a tribute to all its members and especially so to those long serving members who have shaped and guided the club over the 40 years. Of particular note amongst those long serving members is Ron Stobaus (Head Coach), who has achieved the rare distinction of being an active member of the club throughout every year of its existence.

The club has excellent coaches, great training facilities and a convivial atmosphere. Head coach, Ron Stobaus, has over 40 years of experience and is one of a select few Level 5 (the highest level) coaches in the State. Ron's achievements as an outstanding elite athlete's coach are widely recognised. In 2004, Ron was awarded Athletics Victoria's Coach of the Year.

With the previous two choice of venue, A.V appears to think we may be horses. With this in mind what horse do you think you will best represent at Flemington on Sunday?
