The Club > Facilities & Training

The club uses a number of facilities to conduct training, with its major base at St Bernard's College in Essendon. Here it has access to two well maintained ovals, a synthetic soccer pitch, throwing cage and jumps pit. The club also utilises the long uninterrupted paths of the adjacent Maribyrnong River, as well as other school facilities.

The club caters for all ages, gender and levels of ability. There are many knowledgeable and experienced Coaches on hand at all training sessions to assist all members in their chosen events. These coaches are available four days a week at two different training venues. Training is generally on a group basis with additional personal attention when possible.

Training is varied and based on the requirements and goals of each member, however the standard format of a training season is as follows:

General Training Breakdown

5:30pm - Basic Stretching

5:40pm - Warm up run (either around ovals or if light and weather permitting out along river; varying distances)

6:00pm - Specific stretching

6:05pm - Training session and drills

6:40pm - Warm down and stretches

6:50pm - Core strength exercises

With the previous two choice of venue, A.V appears to think we may be horses. With this in mind what horse do you think you will best represent at Flemington on Sunday?
